Multiplayer, generative and agentic interfaces have never been designed for travel. You get to invent them and transform them into user intuition.

Why Halcy?
Halcy is a multiplayer travel app, built on taste. It surfaces the places worth travelling for - restaurants, bars, hotels, neighbourhoods - and gets everyone there. Underneath is the hard part: a whole group planning live, agents that research, compare and act across the travel ecosystem, and a sense of taste that gets sharper with every trip.
We want to bring more adventure into people's lives. We're looking for someone who shares that ambition, and who's excited to help build the company that delivers it.
Who you (probably) are
- High on curiosity. Low on patience.
- High on autonomy. Low on ego.
- High tolerance for complexity. Low tolerance for repetition.
- Suspicious of process. Religious about pace.
- Paints with a big brush, again and again, then switches to the smallest one for every last detail.
What you (ideally) bring
Must have
- Conceptual range. You can invent an entire interaction model from a blank canvas, discard it, and invent a better one. Repeatedly.
- Taste, and the reasoning behind it. A body of work where every screen looks considered, and you can explain each call you made.
- You build what you design. Strong React and TypeScript, enough that you answer "can we do this?" by doing it.
- Command of a design system. Tailwind, shadcn/ui, motion, and the discipline to keep two hundred screens feeling like one product.
- Mobile-first instinct. Most of Halcy happens on a phone, one-handed, in a foreign city, on bad wifi. That should change how you design.
Bonus
- You've designed around generative output. Streaming, unpredictable, sometimes-wrong AI content breaks every static layout assumption. You've dealt with it.
- Multiplayer or realtime UX. Presence, live edits, other people changing the thing you're looking at.
What you will (mostly) do
- Invent the interface for multiplayer AI. Five friends, one live plan, and a model generating and rearranging it underneath them. Nobody has designed this. You get to decide what it should be.
- Bring gusto to a category that has none. Travel interfaces are lists, filters and forms. Halcy should be something people show their friends unprompted.
- Make a genuinely complex product feel obvious. Group planning, live co-editing, bookings, budgets, an assistant working alongside the group. All of it has to land as one simple thing.
- Own how Halcy feels. Every screen, every transition, permanent licence to cook.
- Design in code and ship every week. Then watch real people use it, find hesitation and eliminate it.
- Set the craft bar for everyone who joins after you. Engineers included.
Benefits
