1. About this policy
This policy explains how The Qualidex uses cookies and similar technologies on thequalidex.com. It is provided in line with the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (lag 2022:482 om elektronisk kommunikation, “LEK”) and the EU ePrivacy Directive, which require us to inform you about cookies and obtain your consent for non-essential ones.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags.
3. Cookies we use
We set no cookies of our own, and none that would require your consent. That is why you were not asked to agree to any. Taking the usual categories in turn:
- Strictly necessary. We set none. These are static pages with no login and no session, so there is nothing for us to remember between one request and the next. Our hosting provider may set a short-lived security cookie to tell real visitors from automated abuse; where it does, that is exempt from consent under LEK because the site cannot be delivered safely without it.
- Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and links people use. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and creates no persistent identifier, so it needs no consent under LEK or the ePrivacy Directive. What it records is aggregate and anonymous — the page address, where the visit came from, an approximate country, and the general type of device and browser. Your IP address is used only in passing — to work out that country, and to tell one day’s visitors apart from another’s — and is never stored. Nothing is ever tied to you as an individual, and no profile of you is built.
- Functional. None. Nothing you do here is remembered between visits.
- Advertising and tracking. None. There is no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag and nothing that could follow you to another website.
We do not use cookies for advertising or to build profiles about individual visitors.
4. Managing your choices
Because we set no cookies, there is no consent to withdraw and nothing of ours to clear. If you would still rather not be counted, any browser content blocker or privacy extension will stop the analytics from loading, and these pages are deliberately built to work completely without scripting — nothing you came here to read depends on it.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies for any site from their privacy settings, if you would like to check what a site has stored.
5. Third parties
We use the following third-party services, each acting as our processor under a data processing agreement:
- Plausible Analytics — our analytics provider, a company incorporated in Estonia. All visitor data is processed and stored on EU infrastructure and does not leave the EU. Plausible states that it uses no cookies, generates no persistent identifiers, and never stores raw IP addresses.
- Our hosting provider — serves these pages and keeps ordinary server and security logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period. This is what keeps the site available and defended against abuse, and it may involve the strictly necessary security cookie described in section 3.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks.
