Gradr is a Stockholm-based AI platform for Swedish schools. Teachers run both assignments and exams on Gradr's own exam platform, the AI drafts formative feedback, and the teacher reviews and approves it before a student sees anything. Gradr deliberately stays out of summative grading, and that choice is a large part of why schools trust it.
The design problem here is unusual and it is the whole job. A teacher has to be able to read a drafted piece of feedback, judge it, and either approve it or fix it, quickly enough to do that for a whole class. Get that wrong and the product costs a teacher time instead of saving it.
What you will do
- Own the review and approval experience, which is where a teacher decides whether Gradr is worth using
- Design for the exam platform as well as the feedback, so assignments, exams and results feel like one product
- Make the AI's reasoning legible enough that a teacher can trust it or overrule it, without reading an essay first
- Work on how a teacher sees a class, not just a student, so patterns of strength and need are visible at a glance
What we are looking for
- A designer who has shipped a product used daily by people doing a real job under time pressure
- Comfort with dense information: results, cohorts, rubrics, and drafts that need judging
- Interest in education, and respect for teachers as the experts in the loop
Nice to have
- Experience designing for AI output where a human approves before anything is published
- Swedish, or a willingness to work closely with Swedish-language material
- Some ability to build what you design
